Cody Gakpo set for Man Utd switch?

Manchester United are working on the transfer of PSV Eindhoven forward Cody Gakpo in the New Year, Relevo claim.

The Netherlands international has been in sparkling form for PSV this campaign, registering 13 goals and 17 assists from 24 outings.

He has been likewise impressive for the Dutch. At the World Cup, he has been a revelation with a goal in each of the three group stage games.

With such form, United have been convinced to sign him during the January transfer window. They are ready to back manager Erik ten Hag.

PSV were eyeing around £30m plus £13m in add-ons in the summer, but they are now expected to demand £43m up front for his signature.

United have the finances to meet their expectations. It is reported that they are ready to spend big despite the talk of a potential takeover.

The Glazers have recently confirmed that they are willing to explore strategic alternatives including a potential sale of the club.
