Chelsea clear favourites to sign Dutch defender
Chelsea are reportedly leading the hunt to sign Inter Milan defender Denzel Dumfries at the end of the campaign.
The Blues wanted to land the Netherlands international during the summer transfer window, but a deal did not materialise.
It was initially claimed that Inter wanted around €40m, but the price tag increased to nearly €60m before the deadline.
The Nerazzurri have not lowered his valuation, but Corriere dello Sport claim that Chelsea are still front-runners to sign him.
The Blues currently have Reece James as the undisputed choice for the right wing-back role, but he has had fitness problems.
The club have struggled when the England star has been sidelined and they believe Dumfries would be the perfect competitor.
Chelsea are likely to open talks with Inter at the end of the season as the Serie A outfit don't want to lose Dumfries in January.
It is also clear that the Nerazzurri don't want Romelu Lukaku included as part of the deal and prefer to sign him on loan again.
