Chelsea pushing to finalise new midfielder deal
Chelsea are reportedly keen on committing Mason Mount to a new long-term contract amid interest from Liverpool.
The England international has been a key player for the Blues over the past four years but his future is still uncertain.
The midfielder has turned down a new deal worth £150,000-a-week and he is reportedly eyeing close to £250,000 weekly.
As a result, there has been a contract stand-off in recent months, but the Blues are hopeful of extending his stay beyond June 2024.
The west London giants spent a staggering £300 million in January to bring in eight players including Enzo Fernandez.
Despite this, the hierarchy value their prized assets at the club and they are determined to convince Mount to stay put.
It remains to be seen whether the England star will commit his future to the club when there is interest from elsewhere.
Aside from Liverpool, Juventus have also been credited with an interest in signing the versatile playmaker this summer.
