Chelsea pushing to sign Josko Gvardiol?

Chelsea are determined to sign RB Leipzig defender Josko Gvardiol this summer, according to The Times.

The Blues were eager to land the Croatian last summer, but RB Leipzig made it clear that he was not for sale.

The London giants have continued to monitor him and reports claim that they are planning a fresh summer bid.

Gvardiol's current deal has a release clause worth £95 million, but that does not become active until June 2024.

Chelsea are hoping to sign him at the end of this season and they are hopeful of negotiating a lesser transfer fee.

Aside from the Blues, Manchester United and Real Madrid are also keeping tabs on the highly-rated centre-back.

Gvardiol has already opened the door for a Premier League move and there could be more interest from elsewhere.

Manchester City, Liverpool and even Arsenal could enter the race to sign him ahead of the next transfer window.

Gvardiol is regarded as one of the best upcoming central defenders. He was brilliant for Croatia at the World Cup.
