Marcus Rashford withdraws from England duty
Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford has withdrawn from the England squad after picking up a knock against Fulham on Sunday.
The 25-year-old suffered the setback during the second half of the FA Cup quarter-final tie but he managed to play through 90 minutes.
Rashford was due to report with the Three Lions today, but he has instead withdrawn from the squad citing the injury at the weekend.
The forward has been in fantastic form for the Red Devils this term, bagging a stunning 27 goals and nine assists in all competitions.
His form has been exceptional since the beginning of the year and United will be hoping that he can continue the run after the international break.
His absence from the England squad could be a blessing in disguise. Rashford has had a heavy workload and will now get much-needed rest.
United restart their Premier League campaign after the break with an away trip to Newcastle United, who are one of their top-four rivals.
