Newcastle United readying bid for Arsenal defender
Newcastle United are ready to step up their interest in Arsenal defender Kieran Tierney ahead of the summer.
The Scotland international has endured a difficult time with the Gunners and he is currently the second-choice left-back.
Oleksandr Zinchenko has been regularly preferred over him and he may not accept a similar position for next season.
According to The Sun, the Magpies are currently keeping tabs on his situation and could soon enter talks with Arsenal.
The Tyneside outfit presently have Dan Burn as the regular left-back and he has come for criticism over his positioning.
Hence, the Magpies are likely to pursue an upgrade. Tierney has emerged as the prime target for the club this summer.
It is reported that Arsenal could be willing to sanction his sale for around £30 million in the next transfer window.
The Gunners are likely to pursue a quality successor in the transfer market rather than reinstating Nuno Tavares for the role.
Tavares is currently on loan with Marseille in the French top tier. Arsenal are likely to sell him for the best price this summer.
