Athletic Bilbao chase Garrido

Athletic Bilbao are chasing the Man City defender Javier Garrido. The Spanish defender has Basque nationality and after a disappointing season at City, the player is looking for a move away from the club.

It seems that Bilbao are prepared to pay £2 million to ensure Garrido joins the club in the summer.

Garrido has a contract until 2011, and the 23 year old is still considering his future elsewhere.

Since joining from Real Sociedad in the summer, Garrido has been a regular under Sven-Goran Eriksson but uncertainty at the club could mean the left-back seeks a move elsewhere.
