Everton enter talks with Man Utd to sign winger
Everton have entered talks with Manchester United to sign Anthony Elanga, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The Merseyside giants were keen on landing Elanga on loan in January, but the move was blocked by manager Erik ten Hag.
Ten Hag was concerned over the atmosphere at the Toffees, and did not want Elanga to be affected by the relegation battle.
The Toffees have now opened negotiations over a permanent deal for Elanga. They are deemed favourites to land his signature.
Nottingham Forest are also evaluating a proposal for the Swede, but the United graduate is likely to favour Everton.
Sean Dyche reportedly spoke with the 21-year-old earlier this year, and has assured him with regular game time next term.
United currently value Elanga at around £17m. The Toffees could propose to part of the fee with the remaining in add-ons.
Everton are facing financial difficulties after their poor spending over the years, and they are working with caution for now.
