Liverpool want to sign midfielder ahead of Chelsea
Liverpool are determined to sign Southampton midfielder Romeo Lavia ahead of Chelsea this summer.
The Reds recently failed with an opening offer of £37m for the Belgium international, but they are already planning a fresh move.
The Merseyside outfit are ready to pay another £8m for the 19-year-old, who only made his Premier League debut in August last year.
Southampton are currently holding out for around £50m, but the Reds are optimistic that they can strike an agreement pretty soon.
Chelsea are keeping tabs on the situation from afar, but they may need to act fast or they could miss out on signing him to the Reds.
The west London giants are currently focused on a deal for Moises Caicedo, but they have failed to convince Brighton & Hove Albion for now.
They recently made a transfer bid of £70m for the 21-year-old, but Brighton are adamant that they won't sell him for less than £100m.
This has apparently stalled negotiations between the clubs.
