Chelsea favourites to sign Brazilian wonderkid

Chelsea are favourites ahead of Arsenal and Manchester City to sign Brazilian wonderkid Gabriel Moscardo in January.

The Blues were in negotiations with Corinthians for the 17-year-old earlier this summer, and they made an offer of around €25m.

The proposal was turned down by the Brazilian outfit. They are eyeing at least €30m as the player owns 20 percent of the economic rights.

It is now reported by Lance that the Blues remain in pole position to land him despite interest from Arsenal and Manchester City.

The Blues have already spoken personally to the youngster, who will only be permitted to leave Brazil after he becomes 18.

Chelsea have always been confident of pushing through the deal and they are likely to meet the demands of Corinthians soon.

Moscardo is a defensive midfielder by trade. He has only a handful of appearances since making his debut for his club.

This has been sufficient to convince the Blues that he has the potential to become an elite holding midfielder in the future.
