Saudi Arabian giants made late move for Man Utd star

Jadon Sancho news

Sancho was on Al-Ettifaq's radar

Al-Ettifaq made a late move to sign Manchester United winger Jadon Sancho before the Saudi Arabian transfer deadline on Thursday.

Sancho was left out of the matchday squad to face Arsenal last weekend and following the game, manager Erik ten Hag said that he was dropped due to his poor attitude in training.

The attacker dismissed the claim with a public statement on social media and added that he was being made a scapegoat for no reason.

It is now revealed that Al-Ettifaq made an enquiry for Sancho on deadline day, but United were not prepared to accept their terms.

While United were open to a loan deal for the former Dortmund man, they wanted an obligation to buy as part of the agreement.

As a result, a move never materialised in the end. Sancho was open to moving to Saudi, but the proposal did not suit Al-Ettifaq.

We could see more Saudi interest in Sancho at the turn of the year, considering he is now unsettled with the Red Devils.
