Chelsea midfielder suffers injury blow in training
Chelsea have suffered a big blow with midfielder Romeo Lavia sustaining an ankle injury in training.
The Belgian signed for the Blues from Southampton in the last transfer window, but he has yet to make his debut.
The young midfielder recently started training in a full capacity, but he has now sustained an injury in training.
The Blues are expected to conduct tests on his setback, but it seems he could be sidelined for an extended period.
Chelsea have had a woeful record with injuries in the last year and they are already missing key players this term.
The likes of Christopher Nkunku and Wesley Fofana are sidelined for several months with setbacks in pre-season.
Reece James and Carney Chukwuemeka are also short-term absentees, but they could return in the next few weeks.
Chelsea are currently 12th in the league table with only four points. They face Bournemouth on the road after the break.
The Blues have struggled to change their fortunes thus far.
