Lindelof open to long-term United stay

Manchester United defender Victor Lindelof has opened the door to staying with the Red Devils for the long-term.

The Sweden is currently in his seventh campaign with the Red Devils and he remains a vital player in the squad.

Lindelof started the season as a back-up, but he is now a regular following a long-term injury for Lisandro Martinez.

The centre-back has now revealed his ambition to continue with the Red Devils beyond his current contract length.

He said: "Absolutely [I want to continue at United]. I enjoy myself very much. I am entering my seventh year at the club. I feel good and the family feels good. It's a club that I really like, and that I love to represent."

Lindelof's present contract with the Red Devils expires in June 2024, but the club can extend his stay for another year.

The hierarchy are already planning to trigger the clause and it may not be long before they open talks over a fresh deal.
