Erik ten Hag confirms fresh injury blow for Luton Town game

Jonny Evans news

Evans ruled out of Luton Town clash

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has confirmed that the club will be without Jonny Evans for the Premier League clash against Luton Town at Old Trafford.

The Red Devils suffered their ninth defeat of the campaign on Wednesday night. They were beaten 4-3 by Copenhagen in the Champions League group stage.

Ten Hag will want a strong response to the result against the Hatters but ahead of the game, he has revealed that Evans won't be involved after sustaining a muscle injury.

The centre-back suffered the setback in the first half of the defeat in Denmark, and he is now expected to be sidelined for an undefined period of time, as per the manager.

His absence could be a blessing in disguise for Raphael Varane, who has been starting on the bench in the past few games. Ten Hag said that the decision was tactical.

The World Cup winner will want to prove a point to the Dutchman with a strong performance against Luton in the Premier League at Old Trafford.
