Chelsea looking to sign Mexican star this winter?
Chelsea are reportedly pressing to sign Feyenoord striker Santiago Gimenez during the January transfer window.
Gimenez joined the Dutch champions from Cruz Azul last year and he had a fantastic debut season with 28 goals to his name in all competitions.
The Mexican has continued his form this campaign 18 goals from just 16 outings and he is currently one of the best strikers in European football.
This has caught the eye of many elite European clubs and reports claim that Chelsea are prepared to push ahead with an approach in the New Year.
Feyenoord consider Gimenez as an indispensable figure at the moment, but they are likely to sanction his sale if a significant offer is made.
If Chelsea were to come with a bid of €60-65 million, it is unlikely that Feyenoord will block the marksman from leaving the club.
Gimenez will ultimately make the final decision over his future. Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur are also said to be interested in him.
