Arsenal submit £17m bid to sign Brazilian striker

Arsenal have reportedly submitted an offer to sign Santos striker Marcos Leonardo during the January transfer window.
The north London giants are presently second in the league table after 16 games into the season, just one point behind Liverpool.
They have scored plenty of goals in the early part of the campaign, but have lacked a striker, who can consistently find the net.
It is now reported by Fichajes that they have made a bid of £17m for Leonardo, who has had a fine year with Santos.
The young Brazilian has amassed 21 goals and four assists from 49 appearances and he could be on his way to England.
Manchester United are also firm admirers of the marksman, but they are not in a position to spend due to their FFP problems.
United's chances of pursuing Leonardo or any other striker next month depends on a potential departure for the same value.
Arsenal drew 1-1 against PSV Eindhoven in the Champions League earlier today. They host Brighton in the league this weekend.
