Chelsea confirm huge injury blow for key defender

Chelsea have confirmed a huge injury blow with right-back Reece James ruled out until March with a hamstring issue.

The England international only recently recovered from a hamstring injury but he has suffered another setback.

It happened in the opening half against Everton on the road last weekend and he will now be sidelined for a while.

The news is a huge concern for the Blues, who are already without Malo Gusto with an injury sustained last month.

Axel Disasi or Marc Cucurella could be asked to play at right-back in the coming games. Neither have been convincing.

Cucurella has shown good defensive resolve in a few games, but he is naturally left-footed and has lacked consistency.

The Blues are currently languishing in the 12th spot in the table. They entertain Sheffield United at home this weekend.

The game is definitely winnable on paper, but judging by their recent form, they could end up on the losing side as well.
