Arsenal speak with agent of Amadou Onana over transfer

Arsenal have spoken to the representative of Amadou Onana ahead of his potential move away from Everton this month.

The Belgian has emerged as the Gunners' prime target for the transfer window and the club are weighing up an opening approach.

Before this, they are keeping contact with his representative and it is claimed that the club's officials met him in London today.

The Toffees have been reluctant to part ways with Onana over the past year, but their financial problems could force them to do so.

A package of around €50m could persuade them to sell. Arsenal are likely to propose a loan deal with an obligation to purchase.

Onana has apparently given the green light to the transfer and he is said to be keen on joining the Gunners to help their title bid.

Arsenal have fallen off in the title race recently with back-to-back losses and will be aiming to put things right after the winter break.
