Arsenal terminate contract of 28yo goalkeeper
Arsenal have terminated the contract of goalkeeper Alex Runarsson by mutual consent before his move to Denmark.
The 28-year-old has been with the Gunners since the summer of 2020, but he has made only six competitive appearances.
After a poor debut campaign, he has spent his time away on loan and will now move to Denmark with Copenhagen.
Runarsson's deal was due to expire on June 30, but it has been terminated in advance to allow him to leave on a free.
Aside from Runarsson, the Gunners have also parted ways with Lino Sousa who has made the surprise move to Aston Villa.
The left-back did not make a single competitive appearance for the Gunners and has now chosen a new club for himself.
He will spend the second half of the season on loan at Plymouth before working with the Villa first-team this summer.
Elsewhere, Charles Sagoe Jr has made the loan switch to Swansea City in order to gain more first-team experience.
