Giovani Lo Celso set for Tottenham exit
Giovani Lo Celso set for Tottenham exit
Both Atletico Madrid and Barcelona are amongst the clubs considering a transfer move for Argentinian international midfielder Giovani Lo Celso, as Tottenham have agreed to release the player at the end of the current season. The player, who has revealed that he wants to return to Spain, can leave White Hart Lane for a fee of around £10 million.
Lo Celso had a short spell at Real Betis and a successful loan period in 2022-23 with Villarreal, and has asked his agent to help push through a move back to Spain. The player has been out of favour at Spurs this season, but current manager Ange Postecoglou has given the Argentine the occasional opportunity. With just one year remaining on his deal, Lo Celso can leave for a cheaper price.
Lo Celso has also had spells with Paris St Germain and his hometown club Rosario Central, but would only like to move to Spain before eventually returning to Argentina.
It is understood that several other teams are in the race to sign Lo Celso, but Atletico or Barcelona is the 28-year-old's preferred next destination.
