Arsenal leading the queue to sign Mexican striker?
Arsenal are reportedly leading Chelsea in the race to sign Feyenoord striker Santiago Gimenez this summer.
The Gunners have lacked the cutting edge in the final third this season and none of their strikers have netted more than 10 goals in the Premier League.
They are expected to invest on a marquee option this summer and Record claim that Gimenez is one of the top candidates on their transfer wishlist.
The same outlet reveal that the Gunners are leading the Blues in the pursuit as they are almost assured of Champions League football for next season.
Gimenez has been in fine form for Feyenoord this term. He has registered 24 goals and six assists from 39 appearances across all competitions.
His performances have drastically dropped in the past few months, but he continues to be highly regarded among Premier League teams.
Aside from Gimenez, Arsenal have also been linked with Viktor Gyokeres and Benjamin Sesko. They appear yet to identify their prime target.
