Chelsea star likely to leave on a free transfer

Chelsea defender Thiago Silva is likely to leave the Blues on a free transfer when his contract expires at the end of June.

The Brazilian has been a key player at the heart of the Blues defence over the past four years, but he could part ways soon.

Silva was in tears after Chelsea's FA Cup semi-final exit to Manchester City on Saturday and it is unlikely that he will pen fresh terms.

Fluminense have expressed an interest in re-signing Silva. The 39-year-old could rejoin his former club before calling time on his career.

Aside from Silva, there are also doubts over the future of Benoit Badiashile. He has been linked with a potential move to AC Milan.

The Blues turned down a proposal from the Rossoneri in January, but they could re-assess the Frenchman's future this summer.

Chelsea will be in Premier League action against Arsenal on Tuesday night. Silva is most likely to start in the London derby.
