Chelsea midfielder wants to play in Olympic games
Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernandez has revealed that he wants to play for Argentina in the Olympic games this summer.
The 23-year-old had a mixed second season with the Blues last term. He struggled for consistency for most of the campaign.
Fernandez recently underwent a hernia surgery, but he is expected to be fit before Argentina's defence of the Copa America.
The World Cup winner has now revealed that he also has the ambition to play in the Olympic games and remains hopeful that Chelsea will allow him.
He said: "I want to be in the Olympic Games. I spoke with [Javier] Mascherano and I told him that I want to go. Let's see with Chelsea if they let me go."
Chelsea recently parted ways with manager Mauricio Pochettino by mutual agreement and they are expected to announce a successor soon.
The next head coach could have the final say on Fernandez's desire to play in the Olympic games in Paris.
