Man Utd preparing move to sign Portuguese star?

Manchester United are prepared to move for Sporting Lisbon centre-back Goncalo Inacio in the coming days, according to O Jogo.

The Red Devils have their sights on landing a new central defender with the expected departure of Raphael Varane from the club.

Inacio has now been linked with a transfer and it is added that the club could move swiftly to negotiate a deal with Sporting Lisbon.

The Primeira Liga outfit recently won their league title, but they still need a big-money sale before June 30 to balance their books.

Hence, they could be willing to part ways with Inacio with a discount.

The 22-year-old has a release clause worth €60m in his deal, but could be available for less with their need to recoup funds.

Inacio has also been linked with United's arch-rivals Liverpool. The Red Devils may need to act quickly to land his services.

United are also said to be interested in Inacio's teammate Ousmane Diomande and the club could make a double swoop.
