Arsenal handed big boost in signing Brazilian star

Arsenal have been handed a big boost in signing Aston Villa midfielder Douglas Luiz this summer, according to TalkSPORT.

The north London giants have been long-term admirers of the 26-year-old and they were first interested in signing him in 2022.

Back then, they made three separate bids for his signature, but they could not convince the Villans to part ways with his services.

Luiz has since developed into one of the most sought-after midfielders in the league and he could be on the move this summer.

Villa need to balance their books before the end of June to avoid PSR sanctions and they are ready to part ways with Luiz.

Juventus are also interested in signing the Brazilian star, but they may not be able to compete with the Gunners financially for him.

Villa are likely to demand at least £60m for the Manchester City graduate and convincing him to join won't be an issue for Arsenal.

Luiz previously agreed personal terms in the summer of 2022.
