Chelsea make first move to sign Michael Olise ahead of Man Utd
Chelsea have made the first move to sign Michael Olise amid interest from Manchester United, according to Daily Mail.
The Blues tried to sign the Frenchman from Crystal Palace last summer, but their efforts were thwarted by the south Londoners.
Chelsea were prepared to trigger his £35m release clause, but Palace were able to convince the winger to pen a new contract.
Olise's release clause has now increased to around £60m, but that option is only valid to Champions League clubs this summer.
Hence, the Blues will need to pay a higher fee and Daily Mail claim that they could offer between £60-70m for his services.
United are also admirers of the highly-rated winger, but they are not in a position to spend without player sales at the moment.
The Red Devils will start with a pre-sales budget of around £50m and may not want to spend most of the fee up front on Olise.
Olise had an injury-plagued season with Palace last term. He was still impressive with 16 goal contributions in 19 games.
