Man Utd need to trigger midfielder clause by Sunday
Manchester United have until Sunday to activate the buy option to sign Fiorentina midfielder Sofyan Amrabat, according to Tuttomercatoweb.
The Moroccan spent the previous campaign on loan with the Red Devils. He joined the club with plenty of hype, but did not live up to the high expectations.
Amrabat had a good end to the season with four solid performances from the starting line-up and it remains to be seen whether the hierarchy are convinced to keep him.
The buy clause in his loan deal remain valid until Sunday and until then, Fiorentina have decided to keep the midfielder away from pre-season training with them.
United are currently looking to finalise the transfer of Leny Yoro from Lille and they could then prioritise a move for a defensive midfielder.
Paris Saint-Germain's Manuel Ugarte is highly rated by INEOS and he looks the most likely candidate to join the club ahead of Amrabat.
If United can't sign him, they could return for Amrabat's services. They appear unlikely to trigger the buy clause at the current point of time.
