Chelsea not planning high-profile signings

Chelsea are unlikely to make any high-profile signings during the ongoing transfer window, according to The Athletic.

The west London giants have so far made five signings this summer. Tosin Adarabioyo initially arrived on a free transfer from Fulham.

This was followed by the acquisitions of Omari Kellyman, Marc Guiu, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall and most recently Renato Veiga.

None of them can be considered as marquee signings and reports claim that the trend could be similar for the rest of the transfer window.

The Blues are not planning to spend big money on any recruit and are instead prepared to trust the quality within the current first-team squad.

The London giants were very unlucky with injuries last season and they are hoping for better fortunes with a full-strength squad next term.

Chelsea are still in the transfer market, but they are aiming to purchase players who can add depth rather than a guaranteed starter.

Fulham's Andreas Pereira has recently emerged as an option.
