Marseille to complete deal for Pierre-Emile Højbjerg
Marseille will wrap up a transfer move for Pierre-Emile Højbjerg, as the Denmark international arrives at the Ligue 1 club in a transfer deal worth £13.5 million. The Danish midfielder has fallen out of favour at White Hart Lane in recent months, and the 28-year-old will sign a four-year contract at his new team.
Having first arrived in England in 2016 at Southampton, after more than 100 games for the Saints an opportunity to Spurs followed worth a total of around £20 million. Hojberg initially forced his way into the club's first team, and has since played 145 Premier League games for his current club. However Hojberg has grown increasingly frustrated at a lack of first-team football under Aussie manager Ange Postecoglou, and a chance to play in France appeals.
With 85 caps to his name, Hojberg adds a ton of experience for his new club, and Foot Mercato reported today that Marseille have already agreed a fee. Newly appointed Marseille boss Roberto De Zerbi has been very active since his arrival, already signing Mason Greenwood from Man Utd.
