Erik ten Hag explains Casemiro's substitution at half-time
Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has admitted that he made a tactical change by replacing Casemiro with Toby Collyer at half-time against Liverpool.
Casemiro had his worst game in the United shirt on Sunday afternoon. He was out of his depth in the opening half and was responsible for both goals conceded.
The Brazilian twice lost possession in his own half and the Reds capitalised by scoring within 10 seconds each time. This forced the manager to sub off Casemiro.
Collyer brought more energy into the game, but United ended up losing the game by a 3-0 scoreline. Kobbie Mainoo's mistake paved the way for the Reds' third.
Speaking after the game, Ten Hag admitted that the decision to take off Casemiro at half-time was tactical, he said: "It was tactical. We were 2-0 down against Liverpool and the midfield will be open."
"You need legs and we brought in a young player who has legs in Toby Collyer. Individual errors are part of football."
