Arsenal set sights on landing 25yo striker next year
Arsenal have their sights on landing Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak at the end of the campaign, according to Football Insider.
The Gunners have struggled in front of goal in recent times. They have netted just twice in their last four Premier League and Champions League outings.
This is a huge concern for the club going forward. A mid-season solution is unlikely on the cards and Arsenal may have to wait until the summer.
Football Insider claim that Isak is the number one choice for the London giants and the club are plotting a big-money move for the Swede.
Isak was on the Gunners' radar during his time at Real Sociedad, but the north London giants were reluctant to spend big to land his services.
Newcastle took the gamble and it has proved worthwhile. Isak is now one of the best strikers in the Premier League due to his good consistency.
If Arsenal want to prise him away, they may need to pay more than £100m as his Magpies contract does not expire until the summer of 2028.
