Ruben Amorim wants to re-sign former Man Utd midfielder
Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim has his sights on bringing former midfielder Angel Gomes back to the club next summer, according to The Sun.
Gomes graduated through the youth system at the Red Devils, but he chose to leave them on a free transfer for Lille in the summer of 2020.
The 24-year-old has made good progress over the last few years and he has now become a regular with England due to his good progress.
Gomes' current deal with Lille expires at the end of the season and as things stand, he has no plans of prolonging his stay with a renewal.
United are well aware of the situation and The Sun claim that Amorim would like to bring the Englishman back to Manchester soon.
The Red Devils can negotiate a pre-contract with Gomes as early as January. The midfielder has already opened the door for a reunion.
Gomes has also been linked with the likes of West Ham United, Brighton & Hove Albion as well as Wolverhampton Wanderers.
