Enzo Maresca makes big statement on Robert Sanchez

Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca has clearly stated that Robert Sanchez remains the number one goalkeeper for the club in the Premier League.

The Spaniard has had several stand-out performances for the Blues, but he has also been guilty of making mistakes with his distribution from the back.

Maresca has been quizzed over his stance for a number of months and when asked for an update, the Italian said that Sanchez is the undisputed number one.

He told reporters: "Robert [Sanchez] is our No.1 [goalkeeper]."

The Blues have performed above expectations in the first half of the campaign and they are presently second in the table ahead of Arsenal.

The club are within seven points of league leaders Liverpool and they will be hoping to close the gap when they face Tottenham away from home.

Spurs are in a poor run with three winless games, but they can't be taken lightly, having outclassed Manchester City on the road last month.
