Man Utd will announce a transfer move for Cerro Porteno defender Diego Leon this week, as the 17-year-old full-back will move to Old Trafford in a deal worth around £7 million. The highly rated starlet made his debut last season for his boyhood club, and United have beaten Real Madrid to his signature.

Leon arrived at Carrington training facility this morning to undergo a medical and has reportedly already agreed personal terms with Manchester United.

It is understood that the player will likely see out the season at Cerro Porteno though, as the player is too young to be called up to United's first-team squad at this stage. A deal will be sealed this week and the player will officially move to Manchester in July of this year.

Real Madrid had deployed their head scout to monitor the youngster in action, but Leon had already made up his mind that he would prefer a transfer to the Premier League as manager Ruben Amorim reassured the youngster that he would be on the verge of the first-team squad within months of his arrival.
