Fabrizio Romano announces Man Citys bid for forward

Marmoush to join Man City this summer

Fabrizio Romano has revealed that Manchester City have tabled their first bid for Omar Marmoush, the Egyptian international currently playing in the Bundesliga with Eintracht Frankfurt. City are ready to make an offer in excess of 40 million euros to secure the signature of the 25-year-old forward.

City have struggled this season and manager Pep Guardiola has been given money to spend on new players. The attacking department is one area that Guardiola seeks to strengthen, having not yet replaced Julian Alvarez who joined Atletico Madrid last summer. Egyptian international Marmoush has scored 26 goals in 45 games for Frankfurt, and just yesterday scored the winning goal in a 1-0 victory over FC St Pauli. Marmoush moved to Germany in 2017 with Wolfsburg, before two loan spells with St Pauli and VfB Stuttgart. Frankfurt secured a permanent transfer for the player in 2023. The striker was able to move to his new club on a free transfer. Should City agree a fee with his current club, it will secure a huge windfall for the German outfit after just 18 months.

For some Egyptian fans, Marmoush is the inevitable successor to Mohamed Salah to lead the country's attack.
