Enzo Maresca on whether Filip Jorgensen will start vs Southampton
Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca has refused to confirm whether goalkeeper Filip Jorgensen will keep his place against Southampton in the Premier League on Tuesday.
The Blues have been in a poor run of form in the league and they suffered another disappointing loss at Aston Villa. Marco Asensio scored a brace for the Villans at home.
The second goal came from a huge goalkeeping mistake from Jorgensen. The former Villarreal shot-stopper made a schoolboy error as he failed to grab hold of a tame shot.
Speaking after the game, Maresca was asked whether Jorgensen will keep his place, he responded saying: "I don't know at this moment [if he will start vs Southampton]."
Maresca previously replaced Sanchez with Jorgensen in goal after the former's high-profile mistake against Manchester City. It was the Spaniard's fifth of the season.
Jorgensen made his first at the weekend, but we won't be surprised if Maresca chooses to replace him with Sanchez between the sticks against the Saints.
