Coloccini's agent in Barcelona

Deportivo la Coruna defender Fabricio Coloccini is on the verge of signing for Spanish giants FC Barcelona as his agent is in the Catalan capital to commence negotiations with the Blaugrana officials.

Coloccini's agent Marcelo Lombilla is actually in Barcelona on Saturday to watch his client play for Argentina in a friendly match but he is certain to talk to Barcelona sporting director Txiki Begiristain about a possible move for the Argentine international defender to Camp Nou in the summer.

Fabricio Coloccini has been arguably the best defender in the whole of Spain in the just concluded 2007-2008 campaign and is one of the ten players that Barcelona want to import for next season.

Coloccini himself is quite eager to move up on the pedestal and play for Barcelona from next season. He has been assured by his agent Lombilla that he shall do all he can to secure a move for the player to Barca in the summer.

Deportivo la Coruna are said to release the player should a fee in the region of €15 million be paid to them. Whether Barca are ready to pay that much amount or not for the player is another matter altogether.
