Man Utd enter race to sign 27yo French striker
Manchester United have joined the race to sign Crystal Palace striker Jean-Philippe Mateta at the end of the season, according to Teamtalk.
The Red Devils are planning to bolster their striking department this summer. The focus could be on landing a marksman with Premier League experience.
Ipswich Town's Liam Delap has been linked with the club, but reports claim that the club are more interested in signing Mateta from Palace.
The Frenchman has been a revelation for the Eagles over the last two years. He has netted 16 goals and provided three assists this campaign.
His current contract expires at the end of next season and as things stand, Mateta has no plans of prolonging his stay with the Eagles.
This could pave the way for his summer exit. Palace are expected to demand at least £40 million to part ways with his services.
United are hot on the trail of the Frenchman, but are not alone. Nottingham Forest, Juventus, Bayern Munich and Atletico Madrid are keeping tabs too.
