Chelsea & Man Utd can sign 22yo striker for £30m
Chelsea and Manchester United have the opportunity to sign Ipswich Town striker Liam Delap for £30m this summer, according to The Guardian.
The 22-year-old has had a good breakthrough season with the Tractor Boys. He has bagged 12 goals and two assists in the Premier League thus far.
Despite his efforts, the Tractor Boys are 12 points adrift of safety and they are expected to be relegated unless there is a miraculous turn of events.
The Guardian now report that Delap can leave for just £30m if Kieran McKenna's side are relegated from the English top-flight this term.
Chelsea and United are firm admirers of the marksman and they could go head-to-head to prise him away from Ipswich over the summer.
The Blues are determined to sign a new striker before the Club World Cup and this could hand them an advantage over United in the race.
United have financial problems to deal with and may need to recoup funds first to stay within PSR limits. This could hamper their pursuit.
