Chelsea are very interested in signing Viktor Gyokeres

Chelsea are very interested in signing Sporting Lisbon striker Viktor Gyokeres this summer, according to journalist Christopher Michel.

The west London giants have had a good Premier League campaign and they could end the season on a high by qualifying for the Champions League.

Regardless, the Blues are expected to spend big on a marquee striker and Michel claims that the club are very interested in purchasing Gyokeres.

The Swede has been a revelation since his move to Sporting from Coventry City. He has amassed 52 goals and 11 assists in all competitions this term.

Gyokeres has a pact to leave the Portuguese champions for £60 million and it remains unclear as to who are favourites to recruit him this summer.

The Blues are one of his main admirers but are set to face competition from Arsenal, who have already made contact with his representatives.

Manchester United are also keeping tabs on his situation, but are unlikely to be in contention to secure his services unless they qualify for Europe.
