Arsenal have exchanged paperwork to sign Danish star
Arsenal have exchanged the necessary paperwork to sign Danish midfielder Christian Norgaard from Brentford this summer, according to reputed journalist Fabrizio Romano.
The Gunners have already reached a transfer agreement to land Real Sociedad midfielder Martin Zubimendi. The Spain international is expected to join the club in the next 24 hours.
Alongside him, the club have also sealed the deal for Norgaard. The 31-year-old agreed personal terms last week and Arsenal have now exchanged documents with the Bees for him.
Norgaard has been a consistent performer in the no.6 role for Brentford and he has caught the eye with his strong tackling, recoveries and interceptions.
Arsenal have brought him as a backup option behind Zubimendi, who is expected to start as the defensive midfielder for the Gunners next term.
Meanwhile, the arrival of the duo has coincided with exits. Jorginho left the Gunners on a free transfer last month to link up with Flamengo.
Partey is currently a free-agent after turning down a new contract. He walked away from the club after his deal expired on June 30.
