Chelsea table initial offer for Donnarumma
Chelsea table initial offer for Donnarumma
Chelsea have approached European champions Paris St Germain with regard to a possible move for Italian goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma, the 26-year-old shot stopper who is widely considered the best in the world. The 6 foot 5 keeper has been with PSG since 2021, playing 104 league games, and has been in wonderful form this season, guiding the French capital club to a treble and a possible Club World Cup victory.
The former AC Milan goalie is valued at around 120 million euros by his club, who would apparently be willing to sell should the offer be right. Chelsea believe that in Donnarumma they will be signing the best in the world, and club chairman Todd Boehly is adamant that the Blues do all they can to raise funds for the player.
With Djordje Petrovic set to join Bournemouth and uncertainty over the future of Robert Sanchez at Stamford Bridge, there will be space for at least one summer goalkeeper signing. Chelsea, should they win the Club World Cup in the final this weekend against Donnarumma's PSG, they will receive a significant windfall that can be spent on bringing in new faces.
