Barcelona only want Rashford on loan

Barcelona have reportedly decided against pursuing a permanent deal for Manchester United attacker Marcus Rashford this summer.

The Blaugrana were interested in landing the England international at the beginning of the year, but could not get a deal over the line.

Rashford spent the second half of last season on loan with Aston Villa. The Villans decided against triggering his £40 million buy-out clause.

United are prepared to sell him for the same price this summer. Rashford is hellbent on joining Barcelona, but the La Liga outfit are not keen on a permanent transfer.

Barcelona only want a season-long loan for the United graduate. The deal would also depend on the Red Devils paying part of his weekly wages.

United are not keen on such a proposal and it remains to be seen where Rashford's future lies. He has yet to receive any concrete offers thus far.

He may have to lower his wage demands to secure a summer exit.
