Chelsea eye move for Norway international starlet
Chelsea have been in contact with representatives of Benfica with regard to a move for 21-year-old left winger Andreas Schjelderup, in a transfer deal that could be worth up to 25 million euros. The youngster, who has three caps for his country, played 20 times in the Portuguese top flight last season, scoring one goal and had previously spent a successful spell on loan with Danish Superliga side Nordsjaelland in 2023-24.
It is understood that Chelsea's scouting network have identified the young Norwegian as a transfer option and believe Benfica would be willing to let the player return to Portugal on loan for the upcoming season as a part of a deal.
Capable of playing as an attacking midfielder, but primarly operating on the left flank, the versatile youngster is the type of player that Chelsea are seeking to sign ahead of interest from the likes of AC Milan and Real Madrid.
Benfica paid around 14 million euros for the Norwegian in 2023, and are set to almost triple their money from a transfer if the player opts to move to West London.
