Chelsea to make first offer for Dutch attacker
Chelsea are preparing to make an opening bid to sign RB Leipzig attacker Xavi Simons after holding talks with his representatives.
The Dutchman signed for Leipzig on a permanent deal from Paris Saint-Germain last winter following an extended loan stint.
However, he is now keen on pursuing a new challenge after the Bundesliga giants failed to qualify for any European football next term.
Simons has already given the green light to join the Blues and the west Londoners are now expected to open talks with Leipzig.
Leipzig are not an easy club to negotiate with and they are expected to demand a premium fee of at least €70m for the versatile star.
Arsenal and Bayern Munich are monitoring his situation too and could plot a hijack on the Blues if they can't sort out a possible deal.
The Gunners are primary focused on landing Eberechi Eze, but have not ruled out the prospect of diverting their attention to Simons.
