Chelsea will sign Dutch centre-back on Monday afternoon

Chelsea will wrap up a transfer to sign one of Europe's best young defenders in Jorrel Hato, as the 19-year-old has already agreed terms with the Premier League side and Ajax appear to have cleared the transfer deal today. It is understood Chelsea will pay around 40 million euros upfront, with a further 30 million euros over three years, based upon performance and appearances.
Hato has been one of the stars of Ajax's recent seasons, appearing 75 times in the Eredivisie, scoring three goals. A call up to The Netherlands' national team later followed, and he has since played a total of six times for his country.
Essentially every major club in Europe had expressed interest in Hato, including Italian club Inter Milan, Spanish giants Real Madrid and Barcelona, and Chelsea's bitter Premier League rivals Arsenal, Man City and Man Utd. Chelsea will win the race to sign Hato, who has been offered an eight year contract at Stamford Bridge and will be guaranteed regular first-team football, despite Chelsea's wealth of talent at their disposal.
The signing will be the ninth of the transfer window for Chelsea, and funds will be used from winning the Club World Cup, a total prize fund of close to £100 million.
A deal will be completed on Monday, with the player to be presented during the afternoon on the same day.
