Ruben Amorim sends message to striker with snub
Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim has sent a clear message to striker Rasmus Hojlund following his snub against Fiorentina this afternoon.
The Red Devils played out a 1-1 draw against the Serie A outfit in today's friendly before winning the penalty shoot-out by a 5-4 scoreline.
Amorim was happy to play the game without an out-and-out striker. He had Hojlund on the bench, but he did not play a single minute in the end.
In our view, this is a big message from the manager to the striker that he needs to move on. AC Milan are reportedly interested in landing his services.
Earlier today, United announced the big-money arrival of Benjamin Sesko from RB Leipzig and he is expected to lead the line for the club.
Hojlund could be limited to a bench role at United, and this could force him to consider a new challenge away from Old Trafford this summer.
AC Milan have agreed terms over a loan deal, but discussions are ongoing with United to negotiate a possible buy clause for the future.
