Amorim on Onana axe vs Fulham

Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim has said that it was a technical decision to leave Andre Onana on the bench against Fulham in the Premier League.

The Red Devils picked up a 1-1 draw against Fulham at Craven Cottage earlier today. Altay Bayindir once again got the nod in goal while Onana was an unused substitute.

When asked about it, Amorim said: "It's the kind of decision that the manager has to make. Just try to see the game, try to imagine the next game and try to put the best players to win the game, so I did that."

Bayindir has been vulnerable from set-pieces during his time at United, but Amorim has still preferred him ahead of Onana in goal this campaign.

With United close to signing Senne Lammens from Antwerp, there is a possibility that Onana could head for the exit door before the deadline.

Onana has been linked with a possible return to Serie A with Inter.
