Arsenal close to signing 23-year-old French star

Arsenal are reportedly close to securing the signature of Sevilla midfielder Lucien Agoume this winter.

The Gunners had their sights on the Frenchman earlier this summer, but they decided against an approach for his services.

The north London giants opted to sign Christian Norgaard alongside Martin Zubimendi to reinforce the midfield department.

This has not ended their pursuit of the 23-year-old and reports claim that the Gunners are in contact through intermediaries.

Furthermore, the Gunners are already weighing up an offer for the talented midfielder and are close to landing his signature.

Sevilla want around €25m for the player's services and Fichajes claim that the Gunners are ready to meet the reported price.

Agoume has also been linked with the likes of Brighton and Borussia Dortmund, but Arsenal are keen to win the race.

It remains to be seen whether Agoume accepts the move, given he won't be guaranteed regular playing time in the first XI.
