Bayern Munich enter talks to sign Ibrahima Konate

Bayern Munich have made contact with the representatives of Liverpool defender Ibrahima Konate ahead of the New Year, according to Bild.
The German champions are currently uncertain over the future of Dayot Upamecano whose contract expires next summer. He has verbally agreed terms with Real Madrid, and could sign a pre-contract in January.
Amidst this, the Bavarian giants are looking into a suitable replacement and have identified Konate as the perfect fit. Contact has been established with his entourage with the aim of finalising a pre-contract this winter.
Konate likewise has a contract until June next year, and he has not been convinced to renew. There is a significant difference between the salary demands of the player and what the Reds have offered for a renewal.
If Konate were to move on, the Reds could sign Marc Guehi as his successor on a free transfer from Crystal Palace. Guehi underwent a medical with the Reds last summer before Palace recalled him on deadline day.
Guehi's current deal expires in June next year. He has no plans of penning an extension and could make the move to Anfield next summer.
